Guidance on choosing the right ESCO party for the energy concept.

Initially, a due diligence of the energy concept was carried out, whereby the ventilation system and the necessary number of geothermal drillings were critically examined.

Subsequently, various ESCO proposals were contacted and compared on the basis of the “NMDA” principle. This involves a comparison that goes further than just comparing the initial costs and operational costs. In order to get a complete picture, a TCO analysis was carried out. In addition to the initial investments and operating costs, replacement investments, inflation and interest are also taken into account.

What’s an ESCO?

ESCO means Energy Service Company. It is a public or private organisation that provides integrated energy solutions to its customers. ESCO’s focus on improving energy efficiency or energy savings in existing buildings. Typically, ESCO’s offer performance contracts, where a contractual guarantee is given to the customer on the estimated energy savings, but also comfort or energy supply can be guaranteed through a performance contract. It is the latter that could be applicable for project Key West.
