SuReal acts as a sustainability expert in the guidance and support of the client. NOR05 project is the renovation of an office building in Brussels. Located close form North Station, this building will be BREEAM Outstanding, WELL platinum and an example of circular economy.

Sustainability Management

SuReal, together with B2AI architects, has been commissioned to assist CORES in the development of the NOR05 project in the center of Brussels. This project is the refurbishment of an old building located next to one of the main boulevards of Brussels (Boulevard Roi Albert II) close to the North Station. This project aims to enhance the building and the street by creating a public socle (fitness, restaurant, co-working,…) and functional office building.

 

SuReal is helping CORES to transform this building into one of the most sustainable buildings in Brussels. For the entire project, SuReal has guided the consortium through workshops, studies and guidance in the field of sustainability. With a holistic vision of sustainability that focuses on circular economy, water management, energy, health & well-being and biodiversity, the NOR05 project will become one of the exemplary buildings in Brussels. SuReal has focused on setting ambitions that are future-proof, actionable, and respectful of the environment. 

SuReal considers the correlation between offices and climate with the aim to optimize Thermal Comfort, Energy Efficiency, Operational Carbon, and Water Consumption. Another fundamental aspect is about offices and health, on which SuReal proposes inputs on how to enhance Air Quality, Acoustical Comfort, Daylight Comfort, Biophilia, and the Mind Approach. Sureal also addresses the major issues of building materials and circular economy by proposing innovative improvements on Material Re-Use, Embodied Carbon, Waste, and the Functional Adaptability of the project. 

 

These tailormade ambitions are supported by clear targets and certification. This project will be BREEAM outstanding, WELL platinum and EU Taxonomy aligned.
